Our little firebug

Our son LOVES anything with flashing lights and sirens, he can spot a fire extinguisher or a hydrant a half a mile a away, and of course he has his own set of bunker gear. Like any 3 year old he wants to grow up and be a fireman and who am I to talk him out of a wonderful career serving others, in fact I love letting him come up to work and play on the apparatus and hang out with the guys. This weekend he wanted to "drive" our 110' ladder truck. He hasn't stopped talking about it since. Hopefully these pics are hanging in his office one day when he is a chief somewhere, until then I just couldn't wait to share them...

Jennifer & Heath's Engagements

We went 1 for 2 on engagement shoots this weekend. Unfortunately the heavy rain forced us to postpone one shoot on Sunday, but luckily we were still able to meet with Jennifer and Heath for our Saturday booking. I say "we", but actually Alex did everything this go round. I ended up pulling a rare weekend shift at the EFD so Alex didn't have her trusty pack mule to help lug all the equipment around while she had fun posing and shooting. She managed to pack light (which for us is only 2 cameras, a few lenses, and a couple of strobes) She was able get some really amazing shots of these two love birds before it started to sprinkle. She told me I missed a really fun session, in fact the first words out of her mouth were "You're gonna love Heath, he's just like you!" I'm looking forward to their May wedding... Enjoy the pics!

Amy & Alan's Engagements

It's not unusual for us to become good friends with our clients, I guess it's just part of sharing such an intimate and personal event like a wedding with them. Amy and Alan are no exception. When we met them for a consultation earlier this year, we ended up talking and hanging out at Starbuck's for a couple of hours. Of course we started talking about photography and there wedding, but then we just start talking to them like we've known them for years. I've got to say, that is one of the best parts of the job. We are very lucky to get to meet so many wonderful people and it really makes our job so much easier. I mean look at these pics, do they look like they are nervous or uncomfortable... heck no! They seemed to have a blast and it really shows. Sometimes I'm not sure who has more fun, us or our clients! Amy and Alan, we really enjoyed the shoot and we can't wait to capture your wedding!

Teresa & John's Wedding

John and Teresa tied the knot on Saturday evening and Alex and I were lucky enough to be there to capture the action. I'll admit I was a little nervous when Teresa told us that the venue wouldn't let them get there any earlier than 90 minutes before the wedding to start taking photographs, but everything went according to plan! Everyone showed up on time, dressed and ready to go... That almost never happens, but when it does we have a great opportunity to make some fantastic shots and that is exactly what we did. John and Teresa decided on a first sight and the results are some of the most beautiful and intimate shots a photographer could ever hope for. This was truly a fun wedding to photograph. The venue was beautiful and well lit, the guests were a blast to be around, the reception hall was filled with energy, and the dance floor stayed packed for most of the evening. All those ingredients make a recipe for some great photographs. Thank you John and Teresa for sharing your wedding day with us, we enjoyed every minute of it!
