I have had the honor and privilege to work on a committee called "Euless Revitalization" for a little over two years. The committee is compiled of City of Euless employees from various departments and leaders from local churches. I was originally selected to represent the Fire Department, but was later asked to chair the committee, something I had zero experience in doing. The goal of the committee is to partner with local churches and businesses to help struggling families make repairs to their homes. This past weekend we held our largest event to date: 622 volunteers came together over 2 days to make repairs to 16 homes! It was amazing to hear the stories and watch lives change right in front of your eyes. There is nothing more rewarding than helping a complete stranger, so if you have never volunteered to make a difference in your community I dare you to give it a try... It's addictive!!! Here are some photos I snapped when I wasn't roofing or installing new siding on our project home.
