What a great weekend! We finally had a white Christmas, something Alex has been asking for since I've known her. Although, since we had most of our immediate family coming over Christmas Eve, it made for some very difficult traveling for some of them. It was so nice having everyone under one roof, and we all seemed to have a great time. Ethan must have been good this year because Santa brought him a ton of toys including a train set, hot wheels, and his favorite toy, a big blue pickup truck Power Wheel. It was cold, but that wasn't going to stop him from driving it until the battery died. After a few close calls with mail boxes and real cars, he started to get the hang of it. I don't know if I'm ready to hand him my Jeep keys, but at least I know he would have the potential to keep it right-side-up and on the road. Here are some pics from our wonderful holiday extravaganza...

Patrick and Annie's Engagements...
This was our last scheduled shoot for 2009, and what a way to close out the year! We have been looking forward to this shoot ever since we met Annie and Patrick at their consultation, we all just seemed to click. They are becoming fast friends and they totally seemed comfortable being in front of our cameras. They were adventurous, upbeat, and easy going... the perfect trifecta for our clients. You can tell when a couple is truly passionate about one another and that always makes for awesome engagement photographs. We found some great backgrounds including a backhoe and a pile of tires, don't they just scream love? We can't wait for their wedding and trash the dress sessions!!! Here are some of our favs from the shoot:

The true meaning of Christmas...
This morning Alex and I were able to participate in part of a Christmas Miracle. Our church was hosting one of ten "Night of Wonder" parties to take place within the next 72 hours for less fortunate families in the HEB area.
6Stones (http://www.6stones.org) is an awesome Christian-based non-profit agency that began working with the HEB ISD several months ago after a very successful backpack drive for low income families at the start of the school year. A partnership developed between the school district and 6stones, and together with several local churches and businesses we will be bringing the true meaning of Christmas to over 600 less fortunate families in our community!!!!
This morning our church, Shady Oaks, kicked off the event by hosting a party for almost 70 families including well over a hundred kids! Each family got to hear the story of the birth of our savior, Jesus. After which the children were able to make a special girt for their parents while dozens of elves helped the parents load gifts for each child to open and food for the family to enjoy together on Christmas day. I have been fortunate enough to work with 6stones from its' infancy and once again I was inspired to watch how God has used volunteers to spread his word in our community. Thank you Scott and Melba for all the hard work, and thank you to the hundreds of volunteers that helped to make day one of the Night of Wonder Program a success!
Oh yeah, it's not too late to help! check out the website http://www.nightofwonder.org/ for more information!

The clock is ticking...
Attention all future brides and grooms! Starting January 1, 2010 our new package rates will take effect... a sneak peek to come very soon. That leaves only three weeks left to book your 2010 wedding at our 2009 rates. We have already booked more than half our 2010 slots and only have room for ten to twelve more weddings on our calendar for the entire year. That means if you haven't already submitted a signed wedding agreement yet, you have just a few more days to lock in the current rates. We wish all of our clients a Merry Christmas and want to thank each of you for such a wonderful year!
Best Wishes,
Ken and Alex Rawlinson

Cold noses and cute poses
We had a very fun, but very chilly session this morning. Andrea and her family came all the way from Little Elm and the McKinney area to spend some time with us in front of the camera. They chose one of our favorite locations for their session and we were able to snap a ton of great images. Here are a few of the very photogenic family:
